2027 Self-Paced Certification Program

The Death Doula & Self-Awareness Certification Program is a 6-month, self-paced training designed to prepare compassionate individuals to serve others at the end of life while deepening their own self-awareness, personal growth, and heart-centered presence.

2027 Cohort Start Dates

Three self-paced cohorts will be offered in 2027.

• March Cohort: Applications due February 10, 2027
• April Cohort: Applications due March 10, 2027
• May Cohort: Applications due April 10, 2027

Registration closes on the 10th of the month preceding each cohort start date.

Limited Enrollment: Only 3 student spaces are available in each cohort to ensure personalized support and accountability.

Program Overview

The Death Doula & Self-Awareness Certification Program combines end-of-life education, grief support, spiritual awareness, and self-development practices to support both personal transformation and professional readiness.

Students learn how to:

• Support individuals and families through end-of-life transitions
• Hold compassionate space for grief, mourning, and remembrance
• Develop self-awareness, intuitive capacity, and emotional resilience
• Explore perspectives on the afterlife and spiritual care
• Facilitate end-of-life planning and preparedness
• Cultivate heart-centered presence and conscious service

An optional Business Foundations Mentorship Add-On is available for students seeking guidance in developing a death doula practice.

This program requires a willingness to explore difficult conversations, practice compassionate service, and commit time and attention to personal growth and professional development.

Self-Paced Program Details

Location: Self-paced online curriculum with live Zoom accountability check-ins.

Program Length

• Six-month self-paced curriculum
• All coursework and assessments must be completed by November 30, 2027
• Monthly assignments are due by the 25th of each month

Self-paced students receive accountability support to encourage successful completion of the program.

How the Self-Paced Program Differs from the Live Zoom Program

The self-paced option includes:

• Independent study format
• Accountability check-ins
• Foundational Death Doula and Self-Awareness curriculum

The self-paced option does not include:

• Mailed materials
• Business mentorship (available as an add-on)
• Fascia yoga classes
• Nervous system regulation classes
• Retreats
• Client referrals

Tuition & Payments

Tuition

• Program Tuition: $1,400
• Non-Refundable Application Fee: $25
• Enrollment Fee: $100 (applied toward tuition)

Payment Options

Students may choose one of the following payment options:

• Pay in Full: $1,400
• 3-Payment Plan: Three payments of $433.33
  • Available after the $100 enrollment fee is paid 
  • A $5 invoice fee applies to each payment plan installment

Tuition payments must remain current to maintain access to course materials, accountability sessions, and certification requirements.

Program Commitment

The HK Death Doula & Self-Awareness Certification Program is a six-month journey requiring dedication to personal growth, end-of-life education, and compassionate service.

About the Instructor — Erin Doty

Certified Death Doula & Self‑Awareness Practitioner Program Facilitator

Erin’s death doula journey began in 2014. She works with clients both remotely and in person, and provides certified HK Death Doula & Self‑Awareness graduates (who are insured) with client referrals.
